Troublesome Beauty

It was about midday when Shikamaru finally got some one-on-one time with the clouds. The breeze was blowing ever so softly and he soon fell asleep. He woke to a chuckling sound, but he didn't open his eyes just yet. After a while something nudged his side, he opened one eye and glared up at none other than Temari of the Sand village.

"Wake up you brat! You have been here for hours!" She scolded. She was just like his mom, a total nag!

"Leave me alone, you troublesome woman..." Shika groaned as he turned over, his back to her now.

Temari, being the girl she is, took this a bit offensive and scowled.

"Why are you always in such a bad mood, kid?" she retorted, hands on her hips and head cocked.

"Because...it is troublesome people like you who won't let me sleep or nothin'.." He said back, with a slight trail in his voice.

"Eh, whatever. But how about you and me got get something to eat?..pocky is on me!" Temari offered with a smirk.

'Hmph...she is a stubborn one..that she is..but I like it..' he thought to himself.

With that, Shikamaru stood up, and they walked to a store and bought some random junk food and went over to a hill under a tree to eat. They rambled about their lives and how stupid people can be. Shikamaru found that he and Temari get along quite well and have many of the same interests and outlooks on life.

"Hey..Temari.." Shikamaru asked, looking at the sun as it set.

"Hm?"

Shikamaru turned his head to look at her, "You aren't as troublesome as I thought...you know that?" he said.

Temari laughed at the fact that she thought of this as a cliche movie clip, but she took it as a compliment and flashed him her firm and thoughtful grin. After a few hours of talking, eating and teasing, Temari and Shikamaru parted ways, and the entire walk home, Temari thought of what he had said before...'you aren't as troublesome as I thought'... She started to feel all giddy and giggly, and she didn't know why. She supposed it was all of the junk food she ate, but in her gut she knew that she just might have stronger feelings for him than she would've liked. She had heard from a few people that Shikamaru talked about her all the time and just seemed to a bit perky and energetic while doing so, but she thought he was just a close friend...
